I am Luca. I am four years old, and I just started Kindy. It is exciting, but also a little bit scary. There are so many new things—new teachers, new friends, and a big new playground! Every morning, my grown-up walks me to the Kindy room. Some days, I feel happy. Other days, I feel nervous and want to stay longer. When I feel worried, my tummy feels funny, and I want to cry. Mrs. Kubicek showed me the Zones of Regulation chart. She told me feeling worried is the blue zone, and that it is okay. To feel better, I can take deep breaths, press my hug button, or give a big hug before saying, “See you later!” When I miss my family, I remember that they love me always, and I will see them again soon when I get home. This helps me feel safe. When I get to the Kindy room, I put my bag, crunch and sip, and water bottle in their places. This helps me get ready for the day. Before Kindy starts, I can play with the trucks and puzzles. Sometimes, I do this with Mum or Dad before they say goodbye. That helps me feel braver. Recess and Lunch At recess, all the children go outside to eat and play. I feel nervous and stay near the wall. Mrs. Kubicek notices and says, “Luca, would you like to sit with Milani and Bodhi?” I nod. Milani and Bodhi smile and say, “Come sit with us!” That makes me feel good inside. I move into the green zone—calm and happy! Sometimes, I want to stay with Mrs. Kubicek at recess and lunch. But when she leaves, I feel sad. She reminds me that it is important to play with my friends. I take a deep breath, press my hug button, and find Milani and Bodhi. Once I start playing, I feel much better! At the end of the day, I pack my bag and sit on the mat. When I see my grown-up waiting, I run to give them a big hug. “How was your day?” they ask.I smile and say, “I played with Milani and Bodhi.” Each day, I feel a little braver. If I feel nervous, I can take deep breaths, press my hug button, or ask for help. Kindy is full of adventures, and I am ready for them all!

Setting is a Unitarian Universalist Sunday school classroom. The teacher is Ms. Dennis. One day Ms. Dennis tells them they are going to sing a song in the Winter concert, so they need to choose a song. Taylor suggests "the Little Drummer Boy" Alex does not like this idea because Alex is Jewish. Alex suggests singing "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel". But Avery, who is not religious does not want to sing a song about Hannukah. River suggests they sing "Rudolf the red nosed reindeer". the children are excited except Mako. Mako says she does not know that song because she does not celebrate Christmas. The other children ask Mako to just sit out. Ms. Dennis tells them no, they are not going to exclude someone. Ms. Dennis tells the children find something they have in common, and asks them to bring an item that symbolizes the holidays they celebrate. When the children return, Avery brought a red, a blue, and a gold candle Avery's family celebrates Human Light, the candles represent, reason, compassion & hope. Jordan brings a Kinara his family celebrates Kwanzaa they light the candles to symbolize their community. Taylor brings a star from his Christmas tree. He explains that he celebrates Christmas and that the star is a reminder of the North Star the wise men followed to find Jesus. Mako brings a Bodi tree with lights. Mako's her family celebrates Bodi day, the day when the Buddha achieved enlightenment the lights on the tree represent the path to enlightenment. Alex brings a Menorah, Alex's family celebrates Hannukah, and the candles symbolize light's triumph over dark. River brings in a crown made of holly candles sticking out of it. her family celebrates Winter Solstice & the return of the sun. Ms. Dennis says all their celebrations revolve around light and the symbol of the Unitarian Universalist Church is a flaming chalice, each of the children have a light inside of them. River suggests they sing "This little light of mine" for the winter concert. Everyone agrees.

Charity is a generosity and helpfulness especially toward the needy or suffering. also : aid given to those in need. In the Bible, charity is that pure love which our Savior Jesus Christ has. He has commanded us to love one another as He loves us. The scriptures tell us that charity comes from a pure heart We have pure love when, from the heart, we show genuine concern and compassion for all our brothers and sisters. John Jr and Hopsi decide to have pure love from there on out. 3. John Jr and Hopsi thought of ways they could demonstrate charity. They thought up some ideas that they could do which include: Thinking and speaking kindly of others Praying for the needs of others Encouraging others to reach out to people they normally wouldn't Loving family and friends Treating others with respect and kindness Doing good things for others Praying for enemies Speaking the truth in love 4. John Jr and Hopsi decided to raise money or school supplies to help children in need of supplies for school. They selected a date and made up posters for the event to post around town. They also put a notice In the local newspaper. 6. It was the day of John Jr and Hopsi's charitable event. They set up a table with a jar for cash donations. They put out empty boxes for any supplies. Many people came by to drop off donations. The event brought in $3500 and 5 big boxes of an assortment of supplies. The supplies included backpacks, notebooks, coloring and writing supplies and glue. John Jr took everything they had received to the board of education for distribution to children in need.

On a sunny day, Baa-rbie, Koko and Roo were playing near a dog house. Suddenly, a strange noise came from the barn making them feel intrigued by the sound. They decided to investigate the sound knowing they could rely on the dog to help them. Inside the barn they found an old tractor and a chopped off head. Under the head was a secret passage. The hidden passage to led them to a secret garden filled with toys and food. The garden was overgrown, they knew it needed some work on it. the friends asked the other farm animals to help them with the mission. Everyone worked together, using their skills to make the garden look prettier. As they finished, the farmer appeared and the friends felt a bit relieved. THe farmer was happy and reminded them to stick together. All the animals and farmer returned home and had a nap by the fire place

Kayla is new to school and is nervous to start Kindergarten. She meets a new friend, his name is Bobby. In school Kayla is playing with blocks, having lunch and in the playground and Bobby is always touching her hair, poking her, or in her personal space. Kayla doesn't know how to use her words and will cry, scream, kick or hit Bobby when he is touching her. Later that night, Mindy, Kayla's mom, reminds Kayla that she should use her words and tell Bobby she doesn't like it when he is touching her without her consent. The next day, when Bobby is picking on Kayla, she uses her words and says she doesn't like that. Bobby understands and plays nicely with Kayla. Ms. Melanie, their teacher, notices and praises Kayla for using her words. Everyone is happy and playing together.
